A friend to deceased Berekum Chelsea player Dominic Frimpong has described him as a cool person who has a big heart for doing good.
He said no one in their area can stand anywhere to speak evil about the deceased footballer.
Speaking to Isaac Ansah Apagya of Onua Sports on Monday, April 13, Collins, who attended basic school as well as senior high school with Dominic Frimpong, said they were praying for him to even get the chance to travel abroad with his career at the end of the current season.
“He was thoughtful and will always see me anytime he comes around to visit his family,” he said on Maakye Sports on Onua TV.
“We were even praying that at the end of this season, our friend will get a contract to play outside.”
Dominic Frimpong was part of Berekum Chelsea’s squad returning home from Samreboi on Sunday night when they were attacked by armed robbers.
He sustained gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the Bibiani Government Hospital, where he was rushed to following the incident.
The police have since confirmed the incident and have deployed crime scene experts to the area as a manhunt is underway to arrest the perpetrators.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) as well as other clubs have condoled with the bereaved family and club, Berekum Chelsea.
Dominic Frimpong was on loan from Aduana FC.
