Dreams FC have reached the final of the MTN FA Cup for the second time in three years after beating Medeama SC 3-2 in the semi-finals on Saturday, April 18.

The match, at the Swedru Sports Stadium, was the second semi-final clash after Nations FC beat Aduana FC 1-0 in the first semi-final clash on Friday.

A minute’s silence was observed in honour of Berekum Chelsea’s Dominic Frimpong, who met his untimely death when robbers attacked their team bus last Sunday.

Kelvin Ahiable began it all when he found the back of the net in the 23rd minute.

Barely 10 minutes later, eventual Man of the Match Suraj Seidu made it 2-0, putting Winfred Dormon’s side on a surprise road to face Nations FC in the finals.

However, just before the referee’s whistle went for the break, Prince Owusu halved the deficit for the Ghana Premier League leaders.

The determination of Ibrahim Tanko’s men to do the double this year saw them equalise three minutes into the second half, Richard Appiah getting that vital goal.

However, veteran Dreams FC captain John Antwi proved his worth in the team as he put his side in the lead once more in the 55th minute.

Try as Medeama SC did they could not score as the dream to do the double came tumbling down at the expense of Dreams FC.

The final will, therefore, be between Dreams FC and Nations FC.
