The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has reaffirmed government’s urgency to deliver the Accra Marine Drive Tourism Investment Project, describing the inauguration of a Technical Committee as a key step toward turning the long-anticipated vision into reality.

Speaking at the ceremony, she stressed that Ghana can no longer afford delays on such a critical national project, which aims to transform Accra’s waterfront into a modern tourism and commercial hub capable of attracting global attention and investment.

She explained that the Technical Committee will serve as the central coordinating body for the project, bringing together key government agencies, private sector players, and development partners to ensure smooth execution.

According to the Minister, the committee’s role goes beyond oversight. It will actively track progress, align stakeholder activities, and provide technical guidance to ensure that all aspects of the project meet required standards. The team will also identify and resolve bottlenecks, streamline approval processes, and ensure that critical decisions are taken promptly to avoid further delays.

Additionally, the committee is expected to monitor timelines, enforce accountability among implementing partners, and ensure that resources are used efficiently. It will also provide regular updates to government, ensuring transparency and keeping the project aligned with its overall vision.

The committee, chaired by Deputy Minister Yussif Issaka Jajah, is tasked with ensuring that the project stays on schedule and delivers tangible results within set timelines.
