Debut Ghana Premier League campaigners Hohoe United have been banned from playing in any division of Ghana football for three seasons.

The decision was taken by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Friday, May 1 following the withdrawal of the Volta Region club from the League.

The club, who qualified from Zone Three of the Division One League last season, had withdrawn from the top-flight league after citing unfairness on the part of some GFA officials.

Hohoe Utd affirm withdrawal from Ghana Premier League; ready for consequences

In announcing their withdrawal from the League, the management of Hohoe United said they were ready for the consequences of their decision.

Aside the three-season suspension, Hohoe will return to Ghana football from Division Two in the Greater Accra Regional Football Association.

“The Committee also directed the club to refund all forms of support received from the GFA for the 2025/26 season, including financial assistance and equipment,” the GFA said on its portal.

“The decision further emphasized that the suspension does not absolve the club of any existing financial obligations owed to the GFA or its members.”

In line with GFA statutes, the ruling allows Hohoe United FC a three-day window from the date of notification to file an appeal with the Appeals Committee if dissatisfied with the Disciplinary Committee decision.
