Premier League giants Liverpool FC have confirmed the departure of manager Arne Slot with immediate effect.
The Dutchman led the Reds to their 20th title last season after taking over from Jurgen Klopp.
This season, the club finished in 5th place with 60 points, narrowly making it to next season’s UEFA Champions League due to Aston Villa’s win of the 2025/26 Europa League.
Despite a relatively torrid season to his first, having fallen out with departing striker Mohamed Salah mid-season, the former Ajax manager still regained composure to clinc a Top 5 finish.
“He leaves with a Premier League title to his name and our deepest gratitude and appreciation,” the club said in a terse statement on Saturday, May 30.
Already, the process to appoint a successor is under way.
Many have tipped former AFC Bournemouth Manager Andoni Iraola as the highly likely candidate to succeed Slot.
