A survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics in June 2026 has revealed that Ghana Police Service and Ghana Immigration Service are the most corrupt institutions in the country.

According to the poll, the Police Service scored an average of 6.45 out of 10, while the Immigration Service scored 5.69, indicating a high level of perceived corruption among the two security agencies.

In contrast, government officials, including ministers and appointees, are seen as the least corrupt in the country, with an average score of 4.90, followed by the Presidency and Military, scoring 4.84 and 4.54.

According to the report, “though the Ghana Police and Immigration Service are perceived as the most corrupt, the score has improved, suggesting slow change in public perception.”

Meanwhile, the report further indicated that “Business Executives, who have performed averagely in the past have climbed to third position with a deteriorating score compared to the December 2025 report.”

Also, the study sees the Office of the Attorney-General to be more effective than the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) but hold the view that both the AG and OSP can fight the corruption canker together.

“The poll shows that Ghanaians believe both Attorney General and OSP can fight corruption, however, the AG is perceived to be able to fight corruption better than the OSP according to the poll,” portions of the summary report contained.

“While 24% of Ghanaians believe the AG can better fight corruption, only 16% believe the OSP can fight corruption better but 36% believe both can fight corruption while 13% said neither and 9% did not have an opinion,” the report stated.

It is expected that the government adopts measures to curb corruption in the country, particularly within the Police and Immigration services, with the increasing menace among business executives also becoming a major concern looking at their critical role in driving economic growth.
