The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), through its Operations Directorate, has deployed a new Network Management System (NMS) to strengthen fault management, improve response times, and deliver more reliable electricity supply to customers.
At the core of the initiative is a centralized Operations Situation Room (OSR) at the ECG Projects Office in Accra. The OSR provides real-time monitoring of faults across all operational regions, enabling Management to track restoration progress, monitor response times, and ensure accountability at every level.
The NMS gives senior Management, including the Managing Director, real-time visibility into fault restoration activities, promoting faster decision-making and improved coordination during outages.
To prepare staff for the rollout, ECG has commenced nationwide training. In Ashanti, the Sub-Transmission team completed a two-day programme on June 25–26, 2026. The region also received three tablets to support field operations, officially handed over by General Manager Ing. Ohense Kofi Apau to Technical Managers.

“This system is about speed, transparency, and customer confidence,” said Ing. Apau. “We are modernising our operations to meet the expectations of Ghanaians.”
The introduction of the NMS marks another milestone in ECG’s digital transformation agenda, leveraging technology to strengthen efficiency, accountability, and customer service.
