Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC gave away a last-minute goal to lose 0-1 at home to five-time African champions TP Mazembe in the first leg of the preliminary round of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League.

The Yellow and Mauves were playing in a continental game for the first time in front of their home fans after the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa was cleared for the game.

But for almost the entire duration, there was no goal to separate the two sides.

The Ghana champions squandered several chances that came their way.

With three minutes to end the game, the Ravens beat the offside trap in a one-two passing to leave goalkeeper and captain Felix Kyei at the mercy of Lise Nyembo Ntumba.

He put the ball through the legs of the goalkeeper to silence the home fans.

The second leg is scheduled for Saturday, September 12 at the TP Mazembe Stadium in Lubumbashi.
