Head Coach of the Black Stars Carlos Queiroz has admitted that like any institution his team is currently undergoing a phase of challenges.
That, however, will have to be solved, he insists, as the challenges are not with the team itself.
Addressing the press at the pre-match conference on Monday, Carlos Queiroz stressed that the challenges are before the team but not with the team.
“We are facing a couple of challenges, a couple of problems, but Black Stars is not a problem,” he said.
“Like in every single life, in the hospitals, in the workshops, in the army, in the industry, in business, we face challenges and our duty as professionals is to solve the problems.”
He said with his and the players’ mindset, the problems cannot affect the team
“That’s the challenge that we have in front of us for Black Stars. That’s why we are Black Stars, but Black Stars was never a problem. Black Stars is not a problem, and Black Stars will never be a problem in the future.”
He said the boys are going to play with a positive mindset in the game against The Gambia “and express our skills to go forward and try to score”.
He is sure of victory after the defeat to Ivory Coast last Thursday.
It will be the second qualifier for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as Ghana seek to return to the continental showpiece next year.
