Ghana Champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC have been shortlisted for the CAF Women’s Club of the Year.

The sport-governing body in Africa released the shortlist on Monday, November 27.

The exploits of the 2022/23 Ghana Women’s Premier League winners in the year under review took them into the semi-final of the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League in La Cote d’Ivoire.

Key players like Tracey Twum and Comfort Yeboah were named among the competition’s best team at the group stage.

The two players were earlier this month named among 10 for the CAF Interclub Player of the Year.

But Comfort Yeboah got shortlisted in the release by CAF.

She was also shortlisted for the CAF Young Player of the Year while teammate Mary Amponsah missed out.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC’s coach Nana Joe Adarkwa also missed out on the CAF Women’s Coach of the Year after getting nominated a fortnight ago.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC would have to beat competition from African champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, AS FAR and SC Casablanca of Morocco, and Tanzania’s JKT Queens to win the award.
