Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC failed to make it for the final shortlist of the CAF Women’s Club of the Year.

The 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League semi-finalists were nominated last month for the Awards, scheduled for Marrakech on Monday, December 11.

They were subsequently shortlisted, together with African Champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, AS FAR and SC Casablanca of Morocco and JKT Queens of Tanzania.

However, in its final shortlist released on Thursday, December 7, the Ghanaians and the Tanzanians were left out.

The crown will now be fought for by Mamelodi Sundowns, AS FAR and SC Casablanca.

Meanwhile, young defender Comfort Yeboah is still in the run for the CAF Young Player of the Year (Women).

The defender helped Ampem Darkoa to the semi-finals of 2023 Champions League in La Cote d’Ivoire.

She made the tournament Best XI.

Her teammate Jennifer Owusuaa’s stunning strike against SC Casablanca in the Champions League has been shortlisted for the Goal of the Year.
