Family of the late Ghana international Christian Atsu Twasam has announed that their deceased relative would be buried on March 17, 2023.

The announcement was made during the One-Week anniversary celebration of the former footballer.

Atsu tragically lost his life in early February in the Turkey earthquake, with his passing leaving a significant void in the Ghanaian football community.

Many Ghanaians, including football personalities and ex-teammates of the late Atsu, gathered at Adjiringanor for his one-week observation on Saturday, March 4.

The sad event was attended by a delegation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), headed by president Kurt Okraku.

Notably, former GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi was present, as was Atsu’s first Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah.

Several former footballers, including Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, Richard Kingson, Baffour Gyan, Sam Johnson, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Godwin Attram, and others, were also in attendance. Muntari was visibly emotional and inconsolable at times as he mourned the loss of his former teammate.
