Actor cum farmer John Setor Dumelo has made public his intentions to contest the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat for the second time.
Mr. Dumelo contested in 2020 on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress after defeating then long standing NDC candidate, Delali Kwasi Brempong.
Mr. Brempong had lost the infamous bye-election to Lydia Seyram Alhassan of the NPP some months to the main election following the demise of then MP, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko.

After polling 39,851 votes, Lydia Alhassan defeated John Dumelo with a little over 2,000 votes after securing 37,778 of valid votes cast.
In a tweet Sunday, February 26, 2023, the Ghallywood star said “after an extensive consultation with my God, my family and our party faithfuls in Ayawaso West Wuogon! This’s the second coming.”
