Background

On Thursday, April 13, 2023, Tii-roug went to the owner of a drinking spot behind the forestry commission and claimed that the businessman (name withheld) had a romantic affair with a married woman (name withheld) at a prayer camp in an orchard in front of the spot. He said that he had two boys with him at the time who had videoed the act. Tii-roug demanded money from the businessman to prevent the video from being sent to the woman’s husband.

The owner of the drinking spot, who knew the businessman, called him and invited Tii-roug to a meeting at the spot. Tii-roug repeated his claims and demanded money from the businessman. The businessman refuted Tii-roug’s claims and requested that Tii-roug call the woman and her husband to come and watch the video as proof of his innocence. However, Tii-roug declined and fled the scene, leaving his motorbike behind.

Yaro’s interdiction and judicial cases

Previously, Mr. Tii-roug was involved in a criminal case that nearly sent a royal from Gbane in the Talensi district to jail. Yaro connived with someone who is now late to implicate Bienab Boazie Gban as an armed robber. Bienab Boazie was arrested by the Tongo Police after Yaro reported Bienab Boazie with the help of the deceased ( Yaro’s accomplice) as a witness. The court subsequently discharged Bienab Boazie Gban after realising the charges against him as an Armed robber was not true. Police then arrested Zumah Yaro for deceiving a public officer.

Years back, Zumah Yaro tried conspiring and even embarked on falsehood peddling agenda against a renowned journalist in the region which backfired but the journalist decided not to take legal action against him.

Concerns

OnuaOnline spoke with some residents in the area  and they are demanding justice for the businessman and the married woman who were allegedly blackmailed to regain their integrity and respect.

The businessman is currently in a state of shock and afraid of losing his business partners whiles the married woman’s marriage is set to be in limbo as a result of the attempted blackmail.
