Ghanaian champions Medeama SC could only pick a point from their second home game in the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.

The Mauves and Yellows drew 1-1 with Young Africans of Tanzania in a Group D match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, December 8.

A Jonathan Sowah penalty in the 27th minute was cancelled by a Pacôma Zouzoua strike barely 10 minutes later.

The two goals in the first half proved to be the only goals to be scored in the game.

Yanga, as the Tanzanians are popularly called, found the back of the net in the second half but the center referee ruled the goal offside.

The result is the second draw for Yanga after sharing spoils with leaders Al Ahly at home last week.

It is the first draw for the Ghanaians in the campaign, having tasted defeat – in the hands of Ahly- and a win – at home over CR Belouizdad.

The two sides will slug it out on Wednesday, December 20 in the second leg.
