A former winger for Medeama SC says the Ghana Premier League champions have all the qualities to make it to the knock-out phase of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.

Enock Atta Agyei advises the players to only work extra hard.

The Mauves and Yellows begin their campaign on Saturday, November 25 with a date with Egyptian giants Al Ahly at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo.

The two sides open Group D, which also has Algeria’s CR Belouizdad and Tanzania’s Yanga.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Onua Sports, Enock Atta Agyei, who now plies his trade for Singida Big Stars FC in Tanzania, said his compatriots have all the qualities to make it to the next stage.

“Looking at the Medeama playing body, the advice I can give them is to work extra hard,” he said.

“This is because they have very good players and have all the qualities to qualify to the quarter-final or semi-final. Medeama is very good,” he added.

He adduced that the way the team clinched qualification at the expense of Guinea’s Horoya AC tells a lot about their quality.

The member of the 2015/16 Medeama SC playing body in the CAF Confederation Cup said Ghanaian clubs have not done well in continental club competitions because of lack of motivation for the players.

He, therefore, called on football administrators especially the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to ensure that Ghanaian players are motivated enough to make the country proud.
