The Black Stars suffered their first visit in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after going 0-1 down to Comoros in Moroni on Tuesday, November 21.

It was a fairly good first half for the Stars but the Islanders found the back of the net against the run of play.

Performances of the Black Stars have received mixed reaction from fans.

The ONUA SPORTS team rated the players that represented the country in Tuesday’s game.

Below are the ratings from 0 to10:

Richard Ofori – 4: The Orlando Pirates goalkeeper made some saves but was off his line on a few occasions during the game. He conceded the goal by not putting his defence in check.

Denis Odoi – 5: The Belgium-based defender endured the entire duration of the game and had a fair performance. His recovery was average while most of his crosses could not find his targets in the box.

Nicholas Opoku – 4: Perhaps, one of the poorest games by Amiens defender. There seemed to be lack of communication anytime he moved forward for a corner kick. He also failed to deal with the attacking run of the Comorans which resulted in the goal.

Nuhu Adams – 4: His pairing with Opoku did not work to perfection though he proved a strong pillar in defence. He was, however, beaten to the ball on a few occasions by the opponents.

Gideon Mensah – 5: Another full 90 minutes for the French-based defender. His crosses were good but could not produce any good outcome. His recovery at lateral defence was above average.

Abdul Salis Samed – 4: He bossed the midfiled as usual. His interception of play was also good. He was substituted in the second half.

Baba Iddrisu – 5: The first time in a while that the Spain-based player played 90 minutes. He was good at defence but slow sometimes. A fair game for him on defensive midfield duties.

Dede Ayew – 4: Starting a Ghana match for the captain was welcoming for him but he was not seen that much in the game until the break when he was substituted.

Jordan Ayew – 4.5: The Crystal Palace forward proved a regular player but also regular in missed chances in a Ghana shirt. He failed to convert the chances that came his way. Below average performance from a typical Jordan Ayew.

Inaki Williams – 4: His headers were not as pinpoint as the one that opened his scoring account for the Black Stars on Friday. He slowed the attacks on many occasions. He has to do better in subsequent games.

Antoine Semenyo – 4: Another start for the AFC Bournemouth player but he failed to make good the chances that came his way. He was not a threat to the Comoros defence.

SUBSTITUTES
Mohammed Kudus – 4: Half-fit but the West Ham midfielder made some runs into the opponent’s area. He failed to shoot on many occasions. His performance may be attributed to his lack of full fitness.

Ernest Nuamah – 4.5: He came on with verve but was not able to take on his opponents on one-on-one situations. He, however, managed to create chances for the other attackers.

Majeed Ashimeru – 4.5: The Anderlecht midfielder controlled the midfield but his shots went off target. Perhaps, he was overconfident. But on a different day, that may pay off.

Fatawi Issahaku – 2.5: One of the poorest games for the Leicester City player. Though he had fewer minutes on the field, his touches were not impressive. His single cross went way off-target.

Jonathan Sowah – 3: The Medeama player got a couple of minutes of playing time. His attempt at goal was off-target. He may need more playing time to prove his worth.
