Several people have sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident involving a Nissan pickup with a registration number GT-7929-19 at Assin Juaso around 6:30 pm on Friday, February 23, 2024.
The injured persons have been rushed to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital at Assin Fosu for medical attention.
Eyewitnesses who spoke revealed the vehicle had about 40 occupants. And upon reaching Assin Juaso School, attempted to overtake a motorcycle while overspeeding and lost steering control in the process resulting in a sammersault.
Although no casualty had been recorded so far, the vehicle was extensively damaged due to the heavy impact of the accident.
The report indicated the vehicle was traveling from Assin Brofoyedru towards Assin Fosu direction oh Assin Fosu – Kumasi highway for a funeral celebration.
Police upon hearing the information swiftly moved to the scene to ensure the road was cleared for free flow of vehicular movement.
