The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has invoked Article 14(2) of the Premier League Regulations by banning Nsoatreman FC from the use of their home grounds, Prof. Amoah Koramansah II Park, until further notice.

This follows the deadly violence that erupted during their game against Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The violence led to one fan, believed to be Asante Kotoko’s, being stabbed to death.

The incident has been condemned by all including Nsoatreman FC.

Taking its turn to condemn the incident, the GFA announced tasking its Security Committee led by DCOP Lydia Donkor and the FA Prosecutors to immediately move to site to gather all the necessary information.

The delegation will be in Nsoatre on Monday.

The Ghana Police Service has been consequently informed about the incident with the GFA expecting the law enforcement to bring all perpetrators to book.

The stabbing of the fan followed a melee mid-game as tempers flared up.

Three players – two of Kotoko and one of Nsoatreman – were shown the marching orders by the referee.

The sad incident is said to have occurred outside the stadium.

“The GFA reminds all clubs, players, officials, and supporters that there is zero tolerance for acts of violence, intimidation, and hooliganism in Ghana football,” a statement from the GFA said.

“The FA will not hesitate to impose severe sanctions on any club, official, or supporter found culpable of engaging in or inciting such behaviour.”
