The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has set up a five-member committee to get a new coach for the Black Stars.

This follows the dismissal of Chris Hughton after the group-stage exit of the Black Stars from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

The committee will be chaired by Mark Addo, who is also the Vice President of the GFA and the Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee.

Lawyer Ace Ankomah will act as the Vice Chairman.

The members are Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah, who is the GFA’s Director of Coaching Education, former player Opoku Anti and William Kartey Caesar, who is the Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The committee has up to three weeks to recommend a candidate to the Executive Council for approval.

The new coach, among others, should be a proven top men’s national team or club football coach, must have a football philosophy that aligns with or complements Ghana’s DNA and must hold the highest football license in the world with over 15 years of experience.

He or she must also have a proven track record in team reconstruction, organisation and development of young talent and must be a disciplinarian, tactician and possess leadership skills.
