Captain Smart has asserted an unconfirmed GH₵3 million was spent to renovate the Asomdwoe Park where the late former president, John Evans Attah Mills was buried.

He says government footed the entire cost of the edifice without the Atta Mills Institute contributing anything.

According to Captain Smart, it would be unreasonable for government to spend that amount on the Asomdwoe Park whilst Ghanaians are suffering economic deficiencies.

Captain Smart has chastised President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the CEO of the Atta Mills Institute, Koku Anyidoho, for dwelling on the late former president for their personal gains and fame.

The sculpture of Prof. Mills at the Asomdwoe Park has become a topic for debate after the names of President Akufo-Addo and Mr. Anyidoho were inscribed on it without that of the third President of Ghana’s Fourth Republic.

Meanwhile, the family of Prof. Mills has revealed their intention of consulting their lawyers to quash the Atta Mills Institute, saying Mr. Anyidoho is using their late relative’s name for his personal and parochial gains.

Brother of Prof. Mills and Ebusuapanyin of the Nkuma Kyereba Twidan family of Cape Coast, Dr. Cadman Mills has said at an anniversary ceremony held in honour of the late President.

Let’s watch Captain Smart’s outburst on the alleged amount spent and the omission of Prof. Mills’ name from the sculpture in the video below:
