Inspector Ahmed Twumasi who shot his girlfriend six times to death at Adum in Kumasi has said he had no intention of killing the deceased.

According to him, what ensued between himself and her late girlfriend before her death is something that’s between him and God.

Despite not granted the chance to plead guilty or not, the Asokore Mampong District Court asked  the suspect if he had anything to say.

Mr. Twumasi told the court “I had no intention to commit the crime; what happened is between me and God.”

Meanwhile, the prosecution counsel also read in court Tuesday, April 25, 2023 that Mr. Twumasi allegedly killed the deceased because she was owing him GH₵5,000.

Inspector Ahmed Twumasi was escorted with a police reinforcement at the Asokore Mampong District Court Tuesday considering the charged atmosphere at the court premises amid emotions.

The suspect has been charged with murder.

The court also revealed that Inspector Ahmed Twumasi used a service pistol to commit the crime.

He has been remanded into police custody to reappear on May 30, 2023.
