Veteran football administrator Alhaji Karim Grunsah has warned President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku to improve upon his football management skills now that he is an Executive Committee member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The owner of Division One side King Faisal Babes says if Kurt Okraku approaches his new role with the same attitude he manages Ghana football, “he will soon be back home”.
He, however, congratulated the Dreams FC bankroller for becoming the first Ghanaian after Kwesi Nyantakyi to get elected onto the Committee.
“I congratulate him because he is representing Ghana,” Alhaji Grunsah stated, “but if he is going there with the same attitude [towards Ghana football], he will soon be back home”.
Alhaji Grunsah was speaking in an interview on Agoro Fie on Onua TV on Wednesday, March 12,a few moments after Kurt Okraku was elected as member of the CAF Executive Committee.
He explained that since taking up the reins as GFA President, Kurt Okraku has been vindictive towards persons helped by Mr Nyantakyi to occupy top roles not only within the country’s football-governing body but also at the continental level.
“I’m sure with CAF just like Kwesi Nyatakyi went and helped a lot of people – some becoming Match Commissioners – he should do same.
“If he will go there with that evil behaviour, God will not back him because when he came, all those sent there by Nyantakyi have all been sacked by him and he has rather selected his people.”
For Alhaji Grunsah, Kurt Okraku will not be deserving of such a position if football development was solely the criterion used.
He, however, wished the Ghana FA President well, urging him to make the country proud.
