Aspiring Communication Officer for the NDC in the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency, Foster Ayisah, has said government’s decision to cut sod for the commencement of work of the Suame interchange is commendable.

However, he has expressed worry about the consequence that people will suffer should the project delay unduly.

He warned the NPP government not to start if they cannot complete it within the stipulated time.

“I want to know if the money earmarked for the project is there. Because the rate of traffic at the area is too much. That particular stretch is vital because it stretches to Burkina Faso and other places.

“So if they touch the road and they know they won’t finish now, they shouldn’t start. Because it has happened before. Kufuor’s time, look at the Sofoline Interchange, as at now from Abrepo Junction to Sofoline can take two hours, three hours so if the president is not prepared to do the thing, he shouldn’t start because that will cause a lot of disturbances. He shouldn’t let the pressure on Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu make him cut the sod if he is not ready,” he stated.
