Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey is one of three local players to be included in the final Black Stars squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 27-man squad was announced by Black Stars coach Chris Hughton in Accra on Monday, January 1.

He also named Medeama SC’s Jonathan Sowah and Hamidu Fatawu as the local players in the squad.

The squad is dominated by members of the 2022 FIFA World Cup squad with the likes of Mohammed Salisu, Inaki Arthur Williams, Alidu Seidu and Osman Bukari to make their AFCON debuts.

Others like Alexander Djiku, Mohammed Kudus and Baba Iddrisu are returning to the competition after the most disastrous outing for the country in the last edition.

Goalkeepers: Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Richard Ofori and Jojo Wollacott

Defenders: Alidu Seidu, Denis Frimpong Odoi, Kingsley Schinder, Gideon Mensah, Abdul Fatawu Hamid, Nicholas Opoku, Daniel Amartey, Mohammed Salisu and Alexander Djiku

Midfielders: Baba Iddrisu, Elisha Owusu, Abdul Samed Salis, Richmond Lamptey, Majeed Ashimeru, Mohammed Kudus, Andre Ayew and Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer
