Former Black Stars midfielder Laryea Kingston has been officially appointed Head Coach of the national U-17 men’s soccer team, the Black Stars.

The appointment was confirmed by the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association at a meeting on Wednesday, April 17.

The former Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics player has been working with coach Abdul Karim Zito as an Assistant Coach for the team since 2022.

Taking full charge now, Laryea will be assisted by former Hearts of Oak captain Jacob Nettey and CAF License A and UEFA License B holder Nana Agyemang.

“The new technical team has been tasked to assemble a formidable squad for the next edition of the WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations, Accra 2024 and the TotalEnergies U-17 Africa Cup of Nations,” the GFA said on its website on Thursday, April 18.
