Ghanaian champions Medeama SC suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss to Tanzanian champions Young Africans FC in a CAF Champions League clash on Wednesday.

The Group D clash at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium was the second leg of a 1-1 draw played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, December 8.

The man who equalized for the Tanzanian in the first leg, PacĂ´me Zouzoua, opened the scoring in the first half in front of teeming home fans.

Back from the break, Bakari Nondo and Mudathir Yahya both found the back of the net to give the home side a 3-0 win.

Medeama SC’s Jonathan Sowah, who missed a penalty in the first half, was red-carded in the 90th minute.

The result lifts Yanga off the bottom of the group and plunges the Mauves and Yellows to the base of the group.

The Ghanaians will host defending champions Al Ahly in their next game, after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, before travelling to Algeria to face CR Belouizdad in their final group game.
