Ghana has confirmed eighteen (18) new cases of Mpox, bringing the total confirmed cases to five hundred eighty three (583).
The situational report from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) indicates that as of Saturday, September 20, 2025, two persons were on admission while death toll also remained two.
All sixteen regions are recording cases, with the disease’s hotspot being the Western, Western North and Greater Accra regions.
Ghana is however awaiting the arrival of some 33,000 Mpox vaccines which is expected to complement governments’ effort in managing the disease outbreak.
Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with an infected person.
The general public is encouraged to stop the spread by reporting symptoms such as fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes or body aches to the nearest health facility.
