A fatal accident has claimed the life of the 1st Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Offinso South constituency of the Ashanti region.
Dauda Afriyie, according to eyewitnesses, was riding a motorcycle Wednesday, October 25, 2023 when the incident occurred on his way from Offinso Old Town to New Town.
They say Mr. Afriyie collided with a school bus which led to his untimely death.
This was after he attempted to overtake a vehicle which had slowed down to allow the school bus turn. When he attempted overtaking the vehicle, he collided the bus with his motorcycle and ran over him.
“Chairman was riding a motorcycle from Old Town to New Town. He overtook a vehicle, slowed down a bit but collided with an oncoming school bus which ran over him. He really served the party for more than 12 years. The party has lost a great personality,” NPP constituency Chairman for Offinso South, Salathiel Kwaku Takyi, told Accra-based Citi FM.
