One person has reportedly died with another battling for his life following a chieftaincy dispute between two feuding factions at Gbengbani in the Yunyo-Nasua district of the North East region.
Over 40 houses including tractors, a tipper truck, motorbikes and many other properties worth thousands of Ghana Cedis have also been destroyed.
More than ten people have also been picked up by a joint police-military team.
On Thursday March 14, 2024, around 5am, police in Yunyoo received a distress call on a supposed gun battle in the Gbengbani community resulting in the burning of houses.
TV3’s Christopher Amoako reports police immediately rushed to the scene and arrested some gun wielding men who allegedly were engaged in the exchange of fire.
He reports further that one person was found dead and anther seriously injured.
