Ateaa Tina, a former lead vocalist for the late, renowned Highlife singer Daddy Lumba, has taken to social media to express her sincere gratitude to the musician following his death.
In a post shared on Instagram on July 26, 2025, Ateaa Tina thanked the late musician for granting her the opportunity to show her talent to the world.
Ateaa Tina noted that Lumba changed her life positively with the chance he gave her.
“A timeline of great memories… Thank you so much for the opportunity that changed my life,” she said.
Tina further described the late musician as a talented individual who had a great impact on Ghana’s music industry, adding that his legacy would live on forever.
“A talented being who made a great impact in Ghana music. You will be greatly missed; your legacy will live on. A sad day it is,” she added.
Ateaa Tina has recorded five albums with Daddy Lumba including; Me Ma Afa Wotrim Mu, the Gold Digger, Ahenfo Kyiniye and Bubra.
She was also a backing vocalist for songs like Adaka Tea, Medo no and many more.
Lumba’s sudden demise has been a big blow to the music industry and lovers of Highlife music, with industry players such as Kojo Antwi, Nana Acheampong, Amakye Dede, among others, taking to social media to express their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
