Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Bola Tinubu, is proffering harsh reactions to the Niger military junta who have taken over the government because of his emotions and personal hatred for coup plotters, Diplomatic Consultant, Farouk Al-Wahab, has alleged.

He says when Bola Tinubu got the opportunity to become a senator in 1993, he ruled for just one year when the Nigerian constitution was overthrown by Abacha, after the then government had been in power for just 89 days.

Commenting on the recent coups in the West African sub-region and ECOWAS’s intention to send troops to Niger, Mr. Al-Wahab said when he tried staging a protest to drum home the need for Nigeria to revert to democratic rule, Tinubu was arrested and spent 8 years in exile until Abacha’s rule was over.

He tells Captain Smart the Nigerian president’s dream of rising within the political ranks in the early 90s was killed by a coup plotter, Sani Abacha, the reason he has harboured so much hatred for coup plotters.
