“Tonight is your night so we are here for you” were the words of musical duo, Dope Nation, who appeared at the launch and maiden edition of Onua Showtime with McBrown.

According to them, the live views on social media with the charged live audience backed by the discussions in town made the night of Sunday, April 30, 2023, a night for the Empress.

“I’ve met you before but this is a new you. This is so new and I feel that it’ll give birth to a lot of new lives,” one of the brothers indicated whilst the other said “we decided to come the day we heard of the programme to wait for you outside the gate till you finish and we are glad to be here.”

Rapper Yaw Tog who also stormed the stage asked the Empress to use the show to promote Ghana music, adding that he will be launching his album ‘Young and Mature’ in June.

For standup comedian OB Amponsah, the electrifying studio audience was the ish for him. He was optimistic the opportunity offered him the night would be extended to other young comedians in the country to promote the industry and sustain the level with which they are taking the industry to.

“I’ve been to the UK this year and I opened opportunities for young Ghanaians because I performed well. It’s time we put Ghana comedy out there and I’m glad to be here tonight because many of you here will go and support the young ones who are coming up with the shows I’ve mentioned,” he said.

For her part, Nana Ama McBrown said the show is to promote everything positive about Ghana.

“We made the programme for Ghanaians. Our intention is to use it to promote what we do to help Ghana. It’s not only entertainment, every Ghanaian is important and everyone is part. It has been well arranged and once it takes off, you’ll understand,” she espoused.

Onua Showtime with McBrown shows on Onua TV between 7pm and 9pm on Fridays and Sundays.
