The Ashanti Regional Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dennis Kwakwa, has warned party leaders and supporters against compromising the party’s chances in the 2028 general elections in pursuit of personal favours from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking during the ongoing Organisers’ Forum under his auspices, on Wednesday, September 23,2026, Mr Kwakwa observed that the NPP remains hungry for power after its recent electoral setback and warned that any covert alliance-building with the NDC, whether for personal gain, political protection, or business favours, would not be countenanced.
According to him, some individuals within the party’s ranks have, in the past, compromised their positions by shielding political opponents from scrutiny rather than holding them accountable, a practice he described as detrimental to the party’s chances of retaking power.
He stressed that party leadership and supporters alike must place the interest of the NPP above personal or sectional interests, adding that silence in the face of government failures, particularly when driven by personal benefit, amounts to a betrayal of the party’s cause.
The Ashanti Regional Organizer’s comments come as he continues to engage various organisers and wings of the party across the Ashanti Region as part of efforts to rebuild grassroots mobilisation and strengthen internal discipline ahead of the 2028 polls.
He used the occasion to reiterate his call on all party functionaries to remain vigilant, resist the temptation of personal enrichment at the expense of the party’s collective interest, and actively expose and criticise the shortcomings of the NDC government rather than court its favour.
