Acting Chief Executive of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), Sammy Gyamfi, has disclosed that Ghanaians will find hope in the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy being presented by the Finance Minister today.

According to him, living true to the promises they made to Ghanaians ahead of the polls amid the tax cuts promised by the administration is something they find doable.

He explains that leadership of the government put a lot of things into consideration before promising the scrapping of the taxes it promised to abolish, whilst also promising some developments along the line.

In an exclusive interview with TV3’s Eric Mawuena Egbeta, ahead of the Budget presentation by the Finance Minister Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the private legal practitioner who is also the National Communications Officer of the governing NDC, assured Ghanaians that the government will deliver on its promises because they were well thought through.

“We were very clear in our minds, relative to the promises we made to the people of this country, in the runnup to the 2024 polls. Our promises were well thought through and we knew right from the outset that those policies that we were promising are pragmatic and implementable and so we are not going to have any difficulties keeping faith with the people of this country,” he noted.

His comments come in the midst of concerns raised by some finance analysts and experts who are raising concerns about revenue generation considering the number of taxes the government intends to abolish.

For instance, the Chief Executive of Dalex Finance, Joe Jackson, in an interview with on TV3’s Ghana Tonight Monday, March 10, 2025, explained that the government is not going to find it easy when it comes to revenue mobilisation to fulfill its campaign promises due to the taxes it has promised to abolish.
