Management of Asante Kotoko has requested the release of goalkeeper Frederick Asare for the Ghana Premier League game against Great Olympics.
That league match is scheduled to be played on Sunday, June 2 at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex at Abrankese.
Fred Asare has been part of the Black Stars squad preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic.
He is the only locally-based player to have made it unto coach Otto Addo’s squad, announced on Wednesday, May 29.
The request by management has been granted by the Black Stars Management Committee.
The former Accra Lions goalie will, as a result, leave the national team camp and joined his club mates for the Matchday 32 clash.
He is expected to return on Monday, June 3, in time for the team’s travel to Bamako for the clash on Thursday, June 6.
Ghana will play Mali away before returning to host CAR on Monday, June 10.
