Hearts of Oak Head Coach Aboubakar Ouattara has dismissed assertions that a coach is solely responsible for a team’s performance.
The Ivorian, therefore, insinuates that he cannot be solely responsible for the performance of the club on the domestic front.
He said anybody who understands football knows that there are three “triangles” in the management of a club and these are synergised by the fans.
“It is not only the coach who must carry everything that goes on,” he said in an exclusive interview on Agoro Fie on Onua TV on Friday, May 9.
“That’s why I get to know some don’t understand football,” he added in Twi.
“Football is a triangle of the board, playing body and technical team and the administration. But inside the triangle, the important person who are there are the fans. Their energy brings us all three together to be one. Even if one is weak but the energy in the middle is there, nothing can stop the club.”
Ouattara’s comments come in the wake of calls by some fans for some officials including the Head Coach to resign.
Earlier on Friday, some of these agitated fans stormed the club’s commercial office to verbally attack the Managing Director, Delali Anku-Adiamah.
He was prevented from accessing his office to conduct his daily activities.
According to management, the incident was reported to the police, who quickly came to ensure that calm prevailed.
For Aboubakar Ouattara, he is duty bound to ensure that he plays a part in the vision the club’s bank roller, Togbe Afede XIV, has for the club.
Hearts of Oak currently 6th in the Ghana Premier League with four matches to end the season.
Ouattara says his target is to make the Top Four.
