Samuel Atta Kumi’s brace in the first half, despite being halved, gave defending champions Bibiani Goldstars SC a 2-1 win over Bechem United in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.
The Dun’s Park in Bibiani witnessed the first game of their side as champions of the League.
They hosted Bechem United in one of the two matches played on Saturday.
Stephen Frimpong Manso’s side made their intentions clear as now captain Atta Kumi struck in the just four minutes to record the first goal of the 2025/26 season.
He made it two in the 22nd minute before Darlvin Yeboah reduced the deficit for the Hunters.
No other goals were recorded in the game as it ended 2-1 for the champions.
They will take a break for their foray into Africa as they host Algeria’s JS Kabylie on Saturday in the first leg of their preliminary game.
