The President of the Graduate Student Association of Ghana (GRASAG), All Nations University Chapter, Prince Henry, has underscored the importance of satellites as critical national security infrastructure.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of a meeting between a delegation from All Nations University and the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, at the Flagstaff House.

The engagement formed part of discussions on progress made on a landmark African satellite initiative jointly developed by six countries. The delegation was led by the President of All Nations University, Prof. Samuel Donkor, who briefed President John Mahama on preparations for the upcoming launch of the collaborative satellite.

The project marks a significant step in Africa’s technological advancement and highlights Ghana’s expanding role in space science and engineering.

Prof. Donkor reaffirmed the university’s commitment to continental scientific development, emphasizing that the satellite initiative will create new academic, technological, and economic opportunities.

President Mahama commended the team for their efforts and reiterated Ghana’s dedication to supporting innovation and cross-border scientific collaboration.

All Nations University, a pioneer in satellite education and research, continues to demonstrate its commitment to nurturing young innovators.

GRASAG President, Prince Henry stressed the need for sustained government support to advance space-related research and deepen cooperation among African nations.

Once launched, the satellite is expected to enhance communication, data collection, environmental monitoring, and technological cooperation across the participating countries.
