The Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly has initiated a series of new social infrastructure projects across selected communities.

The projects when completed are expected ensure more communities become equitable and resilient.

The new projects by the Assembly include new Community Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) centre, primary basic school unit, and boreholes.

The Abuakwa North Municipal Chief Executive, Charles Darko Yeboah, says these interventions form part of efforts to promote equitable development across the municipality and to significantly improve access to health care, water, and education.

He says the projects are scheduled for completion within six months, after which they will be handed over to the beneficiary communities.

“People vote to have their lives to be improved. Good health and education are most critical in every livelihood. We are here to cut sod for CHPS compound and school. This is the President’s promise to the people in this Constituency.”

He added “I am very confident that in six months, the project would be completed. Funds for the projects are available. Most projects do not get completed because of lack of funds. I have spoken to the contractors to finish the work on time. Even those projects begun under other regimes would be worked on soon.”

The Municipal Education Director Grace Adzawude, noted that the new junior high school project will boost enrollment and improve pupils transition to higher levels.

She added that strengthening STEM learning at the basic level remains a key priority for the district.

“We wrote several letters for a new primary school. But it wasn’t fruitful. We are happy that a primary school is going to be built. It would help pupils start from the basic level and end here, we would have effective continuity at Atimanfrom. We are poised to ensure the teaching and learning of Science and Mathematics are improved,” Madam Adzawude said.
