Champions Bibiani Goldstars came from behind to beat Heart of Lions 2-1 at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Sunday to keep hopes of defending their maiden title, won last season.
Leaders Medeama SC dropped points after being held to a goalless draw by FC Samartex at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.
Seedorf Asante had put Lions ahead in the first half at the Kpando Sports Stadium.
The Miners, however, came from the break a stronger side pushing Bashir Hayford’s side to the wall for an equaliser.
And that came with 15 minutes to go as leading goalscorer in the League, Samuel Atta Kumi, restored parity to lift hopes of his side.
With the Matchday 23 clash set for a draw, Godfred Arthur snatched the winner to give Goldstars the maximum points.
Schmid Fritz’s side will head back home to await Hearts of Oak, who were held to a goalless draw by Berekum Chelsea on Sunday. The Phobians are just behind the champions on the log, separated by two points.
Heart of Lions, on the other hand, will travel to the Western Region to face Basake Holy Stars on Matchday 24.
