A 26-year-old lawyer has reportedly died after collapsing while celebrating Ghana’s victory over Panama at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Sara Araba Tettey is alleged to have suffered a cardiac arrest during jubilations after Ghana’s 1-0 win over Panama on Wednesday, June 17.
The young legal practitioner was watching the match with friends at Standard Hostel at Bomso, near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, when she suddenly collapsed.
According to eyewitnesses, she was rushed to the KNUST Hospital, where medical personnel reportedly performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, for about 45 minutes.
She was, however, pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Ms. Tettey was an alumna of the KNUST Faculty of Law and was called to the Ghana Bar in October last year.
She worked with O and A Legal Consult.
Her body has been deposited at the KNUST Medical School mortuary.
