Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has admonished the four players who received debut call-ups by Otto Addo on Monday to quickly adapt.
According to him, the World Cup is not a long way off. Therefore, failure by these players to learn the style of play of the national team and get used to it could cost them a place ahead of the mundial.
The debutants are Patrick Pfeiffer of SV Darmstadt, Derrick Luckassen of Pafos FC, Marvin Senaya of Auxerre and Daniel Agyei of Kocalispor.
They were named as part of the 26-man squad released by Otto Addo.
Speaking on Onua All Sports, which airs Mondays at 9:00pm on Onua TV, the former Udinese midfielder said if they get the opportunity to play in the upcoming friendlies, the four must play their hearts out.
“If they get the opprtnutiy,” he said, “they should play their hearts out whether we lose or we win [and] the Ghanaian supporters will appreciate them.”
Ghana will play Austria first at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna on Friday, March 27 before travelling to take on Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany three days later.
