Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have signed a one-and-a-half year deal with former Nania FC right back Daniel Adrian Adjetey to beef up their squad.

Adjetey, who joins the Porcupine Warriors with a wealth of international experience, comes in to replace injured Emmanuel Kotei.

“With Kotei’s unfortunate ACL injury, it was important that we reacted in the market,” said Head Coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum after the agreement was reached.

“In Daniel, we are not just bringing in a player but someone who brings quality, experience, and competitiveness.

“He will not only strengthen our squad but also challenge Lord Amoah for that position, which is key for us moving forward. We’re confident he’ll make an impact both defensively and offensively.”

The versatile defender, who previously played for Naestved in Denmark’s Division 2 and BFC Daugavpils in the Latvia top flight, expressed joy to join the Kumasi-based club.

“This is one of the biggest clubs in Africa, and I’m honoured to be part of it.

“I’ve had the privilege of playing abroad, but coming back to represent Kotoko feels special.”

This is the third signing for Kotoko in the January transfer window.

Striker Isaac Mintah and Sampson Eduku are the two players to have joined the Porcupine family recently.
