Ghana international, Christian Atsu Twasam has been found dead in Turkey after falling victim to an earthquake in the country about two weeks ago.

He was trapped under the ground with search teams looking for him since.

Earlier, a report came that he has been found and sent to a medical facility for treatment but was later debunked by the team’s doctor saying the former Chelsea and Newcastle United star’s body could not be identified in any hospital as communicated.

Few days ago, his shoes were recovered from his apartment where he was suspected to have been trapped.

In a tweet made by his Ghana agent Saturday, February 18, 2023, Nana Sechere expressed his commisserations with the family and asked that the public respect their privacy.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well wishers that sadly Christian Atsu’s body was recovered this morning.

“My deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers and support.

“I ask that whilst we make the necessary arrangements, that everyone would please respect the privacy of the family during this very difficult time,” he tweeted.
