Former Medeama SC winger Enock Atta Agyei says the Ghanaian champions can get a “good result” in their CAF Champions League opener against Egyptian giants Al Ahly on Saturday, November 25.

Tanzania Singida Big Stars FC’s player says the Mauve and Yellows must only put in the extra effort and believe in themselves to grind the results.

Enock Atta Agyei, who was part of the Medeama squad that played in the 2015/16 CAF Confederation Cup, was speaking exclusively to Onua Sports on Thursday, November 23 ahead of the Ghana Premier League champions’ opener against Ahly in Cairo.

The Group D clash will be honoured at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo after a change in venue last week.

Medeama SC have since travelled to Egypt in time for the encounter.

In his interview, the former player admitted that Al Ahly, who won the title last season, have players with much experience in their fold and have history behind them as well.

“But that doesn’t stop Medeama from getting good results if they put more effort and believe in themselves,” the former Horoya FC player said.

“I think they can get a good result there.”

He charged the current players to work extra hard, talking up their chances and the qualities they have in making it to the next round.

Medeama SC made it into the money zone after seeing off Horoya AC in the final qualifying round to become the first Ghanaian side in over a decade to make it to that stage.

Kick-off in Saturday’s encounter is 7:00pm local time.
