Broadcast Journalist Blessed Godsbrain Smart is calling for the arrest of counsel for ‘galamsey messiah’ Aisha Huang, Captain Nkrabeah Effah Dartey (Rtd).
According to the Onua TV/FM morning show host, certain pronouncements from the lawyer after court proceedings Wednesday are in contravention to the laws of the land which requires him to be arrested and prosecuted.
The lawyer had told journalists outside the Accra High Court Wednesday, September 14, 2022, that Aisha Huang’s issue is a small matter which has been propagated by the media to assume the enormity it has been shrouded with.
“My worry is that the media has overhyped this small matterof mining without license and doing minerals business without license. It’s a small matter. It happens everyday in Ghana so I don’t see why the media should even write an editorial on this matter and it is that which is creating a problem and giving all manner of insecurity to the issue,” Mr. Effah Dartey had said.
Meanwhile, Captain Smart has said the lawyer’s comments warrant an arrest and must be carried as soon as possible.
“Effah Dartey must be arrested now for saying galamsey is a small issue propagated by the media. The laws say all mineral deposits belong to the state and government must issue one a license before he can prospect.
“So if a whole lawyer, –this one he didn’t say it inside the court but outside that’s why I’m commenting on it. He must be arrested,” he called.
