An altercation between two youth has resulted in the death of one at Nkawkaw in the Eastern region.
The two had been involved in a fight stabbing each other with knives earlier today, Sunday, November 2, 2025.
The deceased, identified as Kwame Kissi, also known as Phada Gaza, a popular local musician, was stabbed in the stomach, and his intestines protruded gruesomely from the wound.
Meanwhile, the other victim, now on referral, has a life-threatening injury on one of his eye from a knife stabbing as well.
The demise of the popular musician sparked uproar in some youth, who intended to engage in mob justice.
The agitated youth, about one hundred, thronged to the Holy Family Hospital to demand that the injured victim, then on admission, be released to them forcefully.
Some hospital staff on duty were nearly attacked in the process after the irate youth demanded to forcefully enter the health facility in an attempt to pick the victim on admission.
Some security officers at the hospital sustained injuries in the process.
Police reinforcement team from Nkawkaw averted the situation from escalating.
Calm has been restored at the Holy Family Hospital at Nkawkaw.
The Holy Family Hospital administrator, Rev. Father Derrick Mawuli, advised the youth to refrain from attacking health professionals in such situations.

“We had to call for reinforcements from the police to support our security men . Some of our security men were attacked.
“The youth wanted to enter the emergency ward to kill the victim , but we didn’t allow that to happen. The victim has been stabilized. He suffered from a knife wound in his eye , so he has been transferred to Accra for further care. But the body of the deceased is in our mortuary.”
He also cautioned against hard drugs.
“I also strongly advise against the use of hard drugs. It is affecting the youth greatly.”
The Kwahu West Municipal Health Director, Celestine Asante, confirmed that the surviving victim has been transferred to Accra for further care.

She reiterated calls to ensure the youth desist from drugs which was affecting their mental health.
“Parents should warn their wards , drugs does not solve any problems. They rather destroy you, else how do you stab a person resulting in the removal of his intestines, it’s all because they are have taken drugs and are high .”
She pointed out “for us in the health sector, what we observe is that family breakdown results in ghetto boys and its effect in communities. Strong family unit is critical. Nkawkaw has too much ghettos lately. So many youths’ lives are being wasted away because of drugs. Peer influence is part of it.”
