Ghana have moved from the 73rd position to the 72nd in the latest FIFA rankings released on Wednesday, November 19.

The rankings come ahead of Thursday’s draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup play-offs.

The latest ranking will also be used for the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw to be held on Friday, December 5.

Ghana had an outstanding end to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, beating Central African Republic, Mali and Comoros in the run-up to winning Group I.

They, however, faltered in the latest international friendlies against Japan and South Korea, losing 2-0 and 1-0 respectively in the Kirin Challenge Cup, 2025.

Ghana, however, remained 14th on the African continent with Morocco leading the pack and just one rank outside the global Top 10.

Senegal (19), Egypt (34), Algeria (35) and Nigeria (38), in that order, complete the Top 5 nations in Africa.

Spain, Argentina, France, England and Brazil are the Top 5 countries in World football per the rankings.
