A reported clash between the Marine Police of the Ghana Police Service and some fishermen in Tema has claimed two lives Thursday dawn, July 27, 2023.
OnuaOnline is learning the duo went fishing with four others in contravention with the ongoing suspension of the activity for artisanal fishers which is expected to pass on Monday, July 31.
Personnel of the marine police and that of the Ghana Port and Harbours Authority who had gotten wind of the activities of these fishermen ‘ambushed’ them and in their bid to arrest them led to a collision between their speed boat and the Canoe in which the fishermen were traveling in.

The incident led to the two persons drowning with the four others missing per speculations by some fishermen.
Remains of the two drowned fishers have since been deposited at the GPHA Maritme Hospital Morgue in Tema Community 3, while the police and other relevant agencies have began investigations into the matter.
